LAKES LADIES GOLF

Chairman Gough reported that there are 286 18 holers currently, including the addition of 8 new members. The golf committee is working to revise the Hole in One program so that it remains solvent.
Current Rosters are available in the Pro Shop for all members. Thank you Judy Barnes for your hard work, seemingly endless, on this project.
Members of the LLGA board will be meeting on November 30^th at 3pm with Dave Pollart and Sandy Seddon to discuss plans for the renovation of the Ladies’ Locker Room.
Chairman Gough announced that the LLGA board is beginning their work on Desert Reflections scheduled for March 21-14, 2012. Carnivale Venezia is the theme. In addition, members are encouraged to sign up for both December guest day and the Holiday Mixer—there is space available in both and they are great fun!
Kris Grassman, handicap chair, announced that Shirley McEvoy is the most improved player for the 2010-2011 season! Kris also asked that golfers write their full name, date and course played, clearly on their scorecards. No ghin# is necessary.
Speaker for Barbara Stuart, LLGA treasurer, Chairman Gough reported that we are in good shape financially.
Carol Anderson, Niners’ Chair, requested that the niners be allowed to play nine holes in the tournament. There was no opposition to this request and we will work with Mike Clifford and the tournament committee to facilitate niner participation.
Peggy Mason, communications chair, requests that attendees of the LLGA Welcome Back Party who recorded their email addresses please do so again, as they are missing and need to be correct and in her hands for communications to run smoothly.
Chairman Gough congratulated Judy Farnan, membership chair, on the outstanding job she did in planning and executing the LLGA Welcome Back party. Everyone had a terrific time and loved the decorations, the food, meeting new members and being with longtime friends.
Chairman Gough reported that the Ringers competition is being reinvented and made easier for all participants. Two examples of easier are, it will be held only on Tuesdays and it will require only one scorecard to be eligible.

LLGA Board Meeting - Dec 5, 2011

April Mixer and the Rally for the Cure:

Carol, Penny Kirk and I met with Mike re niner’s playing just nine holes with the Rally for the cure, coming in at the same tine as the 18 hole field.

Mike had already OK”d the niners play on the 3^rd nine for the rally with the golf committee.

Carol and Penny will join the April mixer committee. Not sure as to the role the niner’s will take with the Rally itself regarding sponsorship and fundraising. Nila will have to be informed as to the additional nine being used, and what participation she will want if any from the niner’s

The niner’s will pay the same amount $15 for the event and $24 for the awards luncheon. I think they will be able to field there own flight (I’m hoping, as I would like them all to play from the bronze regardless of handicap. Carol and Penny will do their best to encourage as many niners as they can to play. They will be sent out as a shotgun 10:30 or 11:00 so they will come in at the same time as the 18 holers. Mike will sort that out # of holes needed etc. and closing the nine to members teeing off for probably under a hour.

Tournament Report:

It has been decided that Mike Clifford will now do all the ordering for any of the LLGA events.

Turkey Shoot was a huge success with a full field of 140 with a waiting list of 4 or 5

Play and lunch were equally fabulous. Joan Anderson the committee chair was so impressed with the staff, they could not have been more helpful. They we under budget by approx. $92

The WSCGA scholarship fundraiser was held on Hole #7 and was very well subscribed.

The Dec Guest Day was held on Dec 1^st with hollowing winds and chilly weather but almost all 62 teams were happy to play. Crystal was on top of the play, she kept going around to all the teams and most all wanted to continue. Only 3 teams did not finish.

The F&B people were great they served hot chocolate at the turn and wine when we finished. The breakfast and service was outstanding. The committee was sorry they couldn’t give the tee prizes out before play started; the mittens were a huge success. I was most impressed how nicely the thank you speech by Cindy Michael was. The only complaint I got was the weather and it doesn’t get any better than that!!

I have not received their budget as of yet but $120 was saved from team awards due to 2 3-man teams where blind partners were used. That money has been handed over to Barbara Stuart
